Jesse Hiney

     Jesse Hiney played four seasons on the Saxon’s men’s lacrosse team, twice competing in the NCAA championship tournament and leaving AU as one of the top scorers in program history.

     He was a freshman on the 1994 Al Brown-coached team that went 12-3 and went to the NCAAs, and the 1997 squad coached by Matt Kerwick that went 10-4 and also participated in the national tournament.

     Hiney also played on the Brown-coached 1995 team that went 13-4 and won the ECAC Upstate championship tournament. He was a Second Team USILA All-American his senior season of 1997 and was also a two-time Super Six  Conference First Team All-Star (1996 and 1997).

     One of the most prolific scorers in AU team history, Hiney wrapped up his four-year career with 134 points (12th all-time; ninth at the time of his graduation) and 91 goals (ninth all-time; sixth when he graduated).

     After his senior year, Hiney played in the prestigious USILA Division III North-South Game. In his four seasons on the team, the Saxons went a combined 45-16.

          Hiney graduated from AU in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in geology and in 2001 he earned a law degree from New York Law School. He serves as environmental counsel for the law firm of Nixon Peabody LLP.

     Hiney and his wife, Jessica, live in Shoreham, NY, with their three children: daughters Emily and Molly and son Griffin.
