Heidi was the class valedictorian at Herman-Dekalb Central School where she was on the soccer, volleyball and basketball teams before coming to AU.

Aldous played soccer and basketball for her first year at Alfred before concentrating on basketball and rewriting the women's basketball record book from 1983-1987. She became the all-time leading scorer (1,311 points) and second all-time rebounder (862). She still holds the record for most points scored in a season (420 points), most free throws attempted in a career (544) and field goals made in a season (167). 

Heidi was named to several All-Tournament teams as well as the All-Greater Rochester team. During her career she helped her teams go to the State and ECAC playoffs. In 1986-87, as co-captain, Aldous was an All-American candidate and named Player of the Year by the All-Greater Rochester team.

After graduation, Heidi received her Master's of Education degree from the University of Maryland. She has worked for the Melwood Recreation and Travel Center since 1989 where she is the Program Manager in chard of providing vacation programs to adults with disabilities.
