Bradley P. Rendell was possibly one of the best runners in AU history. He served as co-captain of both the cross country and track & field teams in 1938 and 1939.
In 1939, he was the fourth fastest two-miler in the country was invited to run in the Princeton Invitational Track & Field Meet. He won the 1500-meter steeplechase at the Penn Relays adn was selected to run for the United States at the 1940 Olympic Games, which was cancelled due to World War II. He ran at Madison Square Garden, by invitation, 17 times during his running days.
He won the 3,000-meter steeplechase and finished second in the two-mile run at the IC4A Outdoor Championships. 
Rendell, who was a 1939 graduate of AU's agricultural school before Alfred State was founded, also had a spectacular running career while at Falconer High School. He held the mile record for Chautaqua County for 37 years and the sectional record for 34 years.
In 1965, Rendell was awarded All-America status by the National Cross Country Coaches Association.
Rendell and his wife Doris own a large farm in Ashville, NY.
