ALFRED, NY – Alfred University Baseball is preparing to host their first-ever home game at the Saxon Hill Sports Complex on Saturday, March 21 at 12:00 PM against Houghton University. With the generous support of donors, the Saxon Hill Sports Complex, an athletics and recreation facility on 40 acres of a 200-acre parcel of land, has allowed Alfred University athletics to expand intercollegiate athletics offerings and upon completion, it will support the growth of recreational opportunities for Alfred University students and the community.
 
The Saxons will celebrate ceremonial first pitches prior to the game which will feature generous Saxon Hill Sports Complex donors Terry Galanis, Jr. H'19 and Charlie Joyce H'22. Ceremonial first pitches will also be thrown by President Mark Zupan and Associate Director of Student Experience, Athletics, and Recreation Deb Steward. The stadium will be officially known as 'Galanis Baseball Stadium' with the press box named the 'Joyce Family Press Box'. The home and visiting team dugouts will be recognized for the support of David Z. Chesnoff '76.   
 
The Saxon Hill Sports Complex is located at 5248 Kenyon Road, roughly 2.5 miles from the Alfred University campus.
 
Stadium Policies
 
Alfred University Athletics requests that fans respect our new facility as we continue to work toward completion. We ask the following:

• Please carry out any beverages, food, or trash that you brought into the stadium. Neither concessions nor water will be made available at the field for spectators at this time.
• Please do not enter any of the doors of the Joyce Press Box at Galanis Stadium, nor any other facilities at the Saxon Hill Sports Complex. All buildings are currently under construction.
• All foul balls should be returned to our gameday staff.
• Upon weather delays, Alfred University Athletics will require teams, along with spectators, to return to their vehicles. 
• Portable bathrooms will be made available for all spectators. 

Parking
 
Parking will be available behind Galanis Stadium for all fans. Spectators will be directed to our paved parking lot, which will be supervised by our gameday staff. Anyone with handicap placards will be directed to the parking sports closest to the stadium. All parking will be at the risk of spectators.
 
Seating
 
Bleachers have been installed directly behind home plate as well as along the first and third baselines for all spectators. Spectators can also bring their own seating.
