ALFRED, NY – Alfred University women's basketball guard Jaidyn Chest (Mayfield, NY/Mayfield) picked up another postseason accolade as she was named to the D3hoops.com All-Region III Third Team on Monday.

The junior is the first player in program history to be selected to All-Region.

Chest was named to the All-Empire 8 Second Team in back-to-back years. She was the leading scorer for the Saxons, averaging 16.7 points per game. Notably, Chest scored in double figures in 22 of 26 games, including seven with 20 or more points. Building on this consistency, she broke two program scoring records. Chest set the single-game record with 38 points during AU's 78-76 overtime thriller over Utica University on Saturday, January 10. Later in the year, she capped her season by breaking a 40-year single-season record with 434 points. Chest surpassed the previous record of 420, which was set by Heidi Aldous '87 during the 1985-86 season.
 
Chest led the E8 in 3-point field goals made with 57. Her scoring average and free throws made (83) were ranked third in the league.
 
In addition to her scoring numbers, Chest was second on the team with 64 assists and 40 steals.

"We're really pleased Jaidyn continues to get recognized by others for having a great season," Head Coach Mike Moskowitz said. "This is a testament to all the time and hard work she puts in on her own to really grow as a player. Her being the first player selected to All-Region in program history shows how special of a player she is."
