TRUXTON, NY -- The Alfred University men's and women's alpine skiing team concluded its regular season at Labrador Mountain. The men led the Saxons with a 10th-place team finish in Sunday's slalom.
Kevin Voegelin (Alleghany, NY/Alleghany-Limestone) was the front runner for AU all weekend. He totaled a time of 1:48.09 during Saturday's giant slalom and 2:02.76 during Sunday's slalom.
Not far behind was
Logan Lane (Hillsboro, NH/Hillsboro-Deering) at 1:52.22 on Saturday. He improved his second run during Sunday's slalom by two seconds to come in at 2:10.10.
Garrett Farabaugh (Abington, PA/Abington Senior) followed suit in the slalom also improving by two seconds, clocking in at 2:23.16.
Farabaugh's overall giant slalom time was 2:01.94, with his second run also improving by over a second on Saturday. Meanwhile, the lone women's competitor for the weekend was
Zoe Rainville (Saranac, NY/Saranac). Her Saturday giant slalom time was 1:44.66 with a nearly six-second improvement in run two. Sunday's slalom saw her come in at 1:59.46.
AU will head into one final race weekend competing at the USCSA Mideast Regional Championships at Bristol Mountain on February 21 and 22 with giant slalom and slalom races on those respective dates.
