ATLANTA, GA – The Alfred University women's basketball team received Special Mention recognition in the 2024-25 Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Honor Roll, the organization announced Tuesday.

The WBCA Academic Honor Roll recognizes NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their roster for the entire season. The 2024-25 season is the 30th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.

"We're so proud of the continued hard work in the classroom by our group," Head Coach Mike Moskowitz said. "They take their studies seriously and understand the sacrifices they need to make to be the best possible student-athlete possible. We've continued to raise the standard academically each year and look forward to continued success there."

The Saxons previously placed a trio of student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team this past March, while the team ended the year with a 3.686 GPA. Alfred University additionally had nine student-athletes earn Empire 8 President's List honors for their efforts in the classroom this past spring.
