GREENWOOD, IN – Five members of the Alfred University men's lacrosse team were selected to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for Division III, as announced on Tuesday.
 
Benjamin Cunningham (Dover, MD/The Gunston School), Marcus Darminio (Marcellus, NY/Marcellus), Josh Funk (Newtown Square, PA/Maple Newtown), Brendan Riley (Fairport, NY/Fairport) and Nick Volpe (Corning, NY/Corning-Painted Post) were named for this honor.
 
"All of these guys are the epitome of student-athletes," Head Coach Jason Lockner said. "They have mastered time management and understand how to prioritize. The work they do on and off the field is exceptional."
 
The 2025 Academic All-District® Men's Lacrosse Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
