ALFRED, NY – Grace Rittenhouse (Dansville, NY/Dansville) of the Alfred University women's basketball team picked up the team's first Empire 8 weekly honor, as she was named Player of the Week following an official announcement by associate commissioner, Joe Venniro.
 
Rittenhouse led the Saxons to a 79-40 win over Cazenovia College on Saturday as part of the Alfred Classic. The win for Alfred University marked their third straight to begin the new season, their best start since the 2009-10 season.
 
Rittenhouse finished the game with 13 points along with a game-high nine rebounds. She was additionally credited with two assists and two steals. Her efforts led to being named to the 2022 Alfred Classic All-Tournament Team.
 
Rittenhouse and the Saxons will next travel to play Oswego State on Tuesday with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 PM.
