ALFRED, NY – Jacey Palmgreen (Rochester, NY/Greece-Olympia) became the first Saxon to earn both Empire 8 Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week and Offensive Player of the Week awards on Monday afternoon in an official announcement from Associate Commissioner, Joe Venniro, naming as she was selected as the Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Palmgreen more than doubled her season point total last week as she had four assists in back-to-back wins, including assisting on the game-winning goal in Empire 8 action as they defeated the Gators of Russell Sage College. She totaled two assists on Saturday in the E8 win and two on the road at Buffalo State.
 
She now has seven points on the season with five assists.
 
Palmgreen was joined by Alfred University football's Christopher Cox (Rochester, NY/Pittsford-Sutherland) in the Empire 8 Weekly Awards as he was named the Football Defensive Player of the Week. Both student-athletes were also named the Saxons of the Week on Monday.
