ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University women's soccer team battled to a 0-0 draw against Keuka College on Saturday evening at Yunevich Stadium.
The Saxons came out aggressively in the attacking third, generating a pair of shots and a corner kick opportunity within the opening 15 minutes.
Aviana Petrizzo (Cheektowaga, NY/Maryvale) put a quality shot on target in the 23rd minute, but the Keuka goalkeeper made the save to keep the match scoreless.
Isabelle Dennis (Livonia, NY/Livonia) and
Lola Prevost (Pelham, Ontario, Canada/Notre Dame) each recorded a shot on goal late in the first half, but neither team found the back of the net before the break.
Alfred University continued to apply pressure in the second half, with
Mara Gloo (Manlius, NY/Fayetteville-Manlius) recording the first Saxon shot on goal within the opening minute. The Saxons earned five corner kicks over the final 45 minutes of regulation but were unable to convert their opportunities into a game-winning goal.
Reagan Hunt (Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) recorded her first collegiate shutout for Alfred University, helping the Saxons secure the draw.
Alfred University will return to action on Wednesday, traveling to face Elmira College at 7:00 PM.
