ALFRED, NY -- Alfred University women's basketball's Jamie Wilcox (Forestville, NY/Pine Valley) has been named the Empire 8 Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday afternoon.

The first year Jamie set a new collegiate personal best with 26 points on Saturday at home against Hartwick. She shot 52.9% from the floor (9-of-17), including 54.5% from beyond the arc (6-of-11) and a perfect 2-for-2 from the freee throw line. Her 3-pointers are a career best in terms of shots made, shots attempted and the shooting percentage. She also set her personal best in free throws made and attempted against Ithaca on Friday, making 8-of-10 as she added two points from the floor for 10 total and a weekly average of 18.0 points per game. Jamie tied her career high in assists with six against Ithaca.

With the Rookie of the Week honors, Jamie joins her twin sister Jessica, who earned the same recognition during the fall portion of the season.

Jamie and her teammates look to close out their home schedule as they host Stevens Institute of Technology on Friday, February 10 at 6pm and St. John Fisher College on Saturday, February 11 at 2pm for Senior Day.
