ROCHESTER, NY – The Alfred University women's swimming and diving team wrapped up a busy weekend with a win over Fredonia and a loss to University of Rochester Saturday in tri-meet action.

The Saxons topped Fredonia, 154-138, but fell to Rochester, 158-119. In the matchup with the Blue Devils, Alfred University got things started with the 200 medley relay as the team of
Lauren Serotta (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna), Olivia Piazza (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads), Zeruviah Adams (Wellsville, NY/Wellsville) and
Kristin Brown (Olean, NY/Olean) topped Fredonia with a time of 2:00.01.

Gina Artieri (Lockport, NY/Lockport) won the 1,000 freestyle against Fredonia with a time of 11:49.14 right after the relay. Serotta and
Megan Steen (Portsmouth, RI/Portsmouth) went one-two against the Blue Devils in the 100 backstroke with times of 1:04.10 and 1:07.44, respectively. Shortly after, Piazza and
Amanda Guariglia (Valley Stream, NY/Valley Stream South) did the same in the 100 breaststroke with finishes of 1:16.97 and 1:18.29, respectively. During the 200 backstroke, the combo of Serotta and Steen once again, took the top two spots with times of 2:19.55 and 2:23.53.

Guariglia competed in the 200 breaststroke and won it with a time of 2:49.02.
Victoria Cramp (Hornell, NY/Hornell) won the 1-meter diving with a score of 187.65.

The Saxons will next close out 2017 with a three-day visit to the Ithaca College Invitational on Friday, December 1 until Sunday.
