ALFRED, NY — Dylan Staniszewski (Oakton, VA/Oakton), a sophomore on the Alfred University women's swimming and diving team, has earned weekly honors from the Empire 8 Conference.
                
Staniszewski was named the Empire 8 Female Swimmer of the Week, the conference announced Monday. She was honored for her performance in two dual meets last week: a loss at home to Fredonia and a road win at Pitt-Bradford.
                
Against Fredonia, Staniszewski won the 200-yard freestyle (2:00.88) and 500-yard freestyle (5:28.35) and anchored the Saxons' winning 200-yard freestyle relay (1:43.70). At Pitt-Bradford, she won the 400-yard individual medley (4:56.00) and 100-yard freestyle (55.37 seconds), and was a member of the team that won the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:49.04).
                
Alfred, 2-4 in dual meets, is in action next at the Ithaca College Invitational, Dec. 5-7.
