ROCHESTER, NY  -- The Alfred University women's swimming & diving team opened up the 2026-27 season with a loss at RIT on Friday night.

"RIT had a strong showing tonight," Head Coach Brian Striker said. "Our divers had a great start to their season with some solid scores on the boards. There were several bright spots in some events, but there is a lot of work to do as we move forward.  We are going to hit the grindstone and keep our focus on what lies ahead"

Elizabeth Share (Macedon, NY/Palmyra-Macedon) brought home two victories in the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard butterfly to open her junior season. She scored times of 1:01.72 and 1:02.88, respectively.

In addition, Share took home second place in the 200-back at 2:17.23. Kyra Harry (Gaborone, Botswana/Enko Botho) also secured a podium finish for the Saxons in the 50-free, with a time of 26.05 and in the 100-fly with a time of 1:07.65.
