ALFRED, NY -- Alfred University men's lacrosse attacker
Cole Loewke (Hilton, NY/Hilton) was named as the Empire 8 Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Loewke was named as the offensive player of the week for the second time in his career. He was recognized as a player of the week back on April 1, 2024.
Loewke led all Saxon scorers last week against Nichols College and the University of Mount Union. He led all scorers, recording six goals and two assists against the Bison on Tuesday with 10 shots, nine of them on frame. In Saturday's home-opening win against the Raiders, he raided their net with his offensive prowess. He led all scorers once again with five goals while dishing off four assists. He again was consistent with his shots, recording eight of them with seven on frame.
The senior also registered his 100th career goal in the week. It came on the game-tying goal to make it 9-all against Nichols on Tuesday in Maryland at the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Museum. He was named as a co-offensive player of the week back on March 2 with fellow teammate
Hunter Cupp (Bath, NY/Haverling) being named as the defensive player of the week the same week.
Loewke was joined in the Empire 8 Weekly Awards byÂ
Kyle Miller (Corning, NY/Corning-Painted Post)Â as the Baseball Pitcher of the Week,Â
Anlun Zwerver (Koog Aan De Zaan, The Netherlands/Blaise Pascal College)Â andÂ
