COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Alfred University's
Isabella Casalinova (Bennington, VT/Mount Anthony Union) and
Harper Cutting (Bernardston, MA/Franklin County Technical) each were named to the 2025 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFCHA) Division III Scholars of Distinction list on Friday.
Student-athletes must have carried a 3.90 cumulative GPA or higher throughout the fall semester and were nominated by their coaches in order to receive this honor. Both Casalinova and Cutting were joined by five other Saxon field hockey players as members of the 2025 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad for having cumulative GPAs of 3.50 or higher. The 3.50 mark is also the GPA needed for students to earn Dean's List honors as AU generated a total of 253 student-athletes who reached that mark in the fall semester.
In total, the NFHCA recognized 543 total undergraduate student-athletes throughout the NCAA Division III level while a total of 485 athletes were recognized in Division I and Division II combined (341 Division I and 144 Division II).
Casalinova and Cutting were joined by three SUNY Geneseo players, four Hartwick College players, seven Nazareth University players, six St. John Fisher University players, two SUNY Brockport players, one Russell Sage College player, two Utica University players and two Elmira College players with no players being named from Keuka College and Houghton University.
