YOUNGSTOWN, OH – The Alfred University women's track & field team competed at the Youngstown Mid-Major Invitational on Friday.
Vladyslava Makarenko (Berdychiv, Ukraine/Lyceum 23) recorded a personal best time of 19:59.58 in the 5,000-meter run, finishing 25th overall. Her performance ranks as the eighth-fastest in school history since 2010.
In the weight throw, Meridian Bremel (Reading, VT/Woodstock Union) finished 15th, throwing a distance of 13.27 meters (43' -06.50'') while Natalya Ryckman (New Eagle, PA/Ringgold) recorded 12.16 meters (39' -09.25'').
The Saxons will next close out their weekend in Youngstown, starting bright and early on Saturday morning, starting at 9:30am.
