Program Records, Personal Bests for Saxons Shattered at AARTFC

COLLEGEVILLE, PA - The Alfred University men's and women's track & field teams displayed multiple impressive performances at the All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field Conference Outdoor Championships from Ursinus College.

Meridian Bremel (Reading, VT/Woodstock Union) led the women's side in the discus, shattering her own outdoor program record with a 40.15m on the final attempt to win her respective flight and advance to the finals. Bremel finished ninth overall for the Saxons.

Program records continued to be broken across the past two days, as the 4x400 meter relay team of Riley Ciamarra (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas), Jonathan Hodges (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West), Zach Schultz (Middleport, NY/Royalton-Hartland) and Finnegan Dean (Potsdam, NY/Potsdam Central) combined for a 3:18.49 to mark the fastest time dating back to the 2009-10 season. The Saxons finished second in their respective heat and 11th overall.

Zion Baitey (Morristown, NJ/Morristown) represented Alfred University in both the long jump and triple jump. In the triple jump, Baitey registered a 14.16m in his final attempt to advance to the finals, improving to a 14.31m and placing sixth overall on the podium.

In the 400-meter hurdles, Annabelle Townsend (Woodsville, NH/Woodsville) finished with a personal-best time of 1:07.38. The time for Townsend improved her own mark on the all-time record books, re-recording the third-fastest finish in program history.

Natalya Ryckman (New Eagle, PA/Ringgold) put strong effort in the hammer throw following a 44.52m throw on her third attempt. The effort from Ryckman was enough to place second in her respective flight.

Seth Stevens (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) performed well in the 3000-meter steeplechase, finishing with a time of 9:52.59. Stevens came in 11th in the event, jumping four placements from his efforts in the final lap.

Sekou Camara (Conakry, Guinea/ICSA) placed 12th in the high jump, clearing 1.92m in his second attempt for the Saxons.
