Saxons Conclude E8 Outdoor Championships at St. John Fisher

ROCHESTER, NY - The Alfred University women's track & field team wrapped up the 2026 Empire 8 Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at St. John Fisher University. 

Meridian Bremel (Reading, VT/Woodstock Union) led the Saxons with a fourth-place finish in the discus throw with a top mark of 37.64m (123'-6"). Briana Dorr (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) enjoyed a top 10 finish in the shot put with a 10.44m (34'-3"). 

In the 400-meter hurdles, Annabelle Townsend (Woodsville, NH/Woodsville) finished in sixth place with a time of 1:07.60. The mark for Townsend marked a personal record for the senior. 

Later in the afternoon, Townsend was joined by Zoe Rainville, Nyah Allen (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) and Sydney Ribble (Addison, NY/Addison) in the 4x400-meter relay, as the team finished with a time of 4:24.81 to pick up additional points for Alfred University.
