WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – The Alfred University women's track and field team ended the 2024-25 season in 35th out of 41 teams at the All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field Conference Outdoor Championship (AARTFC) hosted by Williams College on Wednesday, May 14 and Thursday, May 15.
Anne Spila (Mechanicsburg, PA/Trinity) was once again selected to the All-Region Team. She registered sixth overall in the heptathlon with a total of 4,127 points. Spila placed in the top five in two of her field events. She recorded a 1.50m (4'-11") jump to claim third in the high jump for 621 points. Spila also threw for 9.36m (30'-8.5") to finish fifth in the shot put for 488. Her two top scores came from the track. Spila's highest was 704 points, which she posted in the 100-meter hurdles after finishing ninth at 16.08 seconds. She notched 701 with seventh at 27.13 during the 200-meter dash.
Annabelle Townsend (Woodsville, NH/Woodsville) ran in the 400-meter hurdles. She notched fifth in her heat and 24
th overall on a personal best time of 1:08.25.
Natalya Ryckman (New Eagle, PA/Ringgold) competed in the hammer throw where she threw for 42.21m (138'-6") to finish 21
st.
"Great final heptathlon for Anne Spila placing sixth," Head Coach Matt Phillips '10 said. "The end of a fine AU multi career and a spectacular final season. Annabelle Townsend ran a personal best in the 400-meter hurdles."
