ALFRED, NY – Four throwers of the Alfred University women's track & field team competed in the Alfred State Sunday Meet at Alfred State College on Sunday.
Nine days after breaking the school record in the hammer throw at A-State,
Natalya Ryckman (New Eagle, PA/Ringgold) returned to the same field to break the record again. She threw for a personal best 47.77m (156'-9") to win the event.
Meridian Bremel (Reading, VT/Woodstock Union) secured her fourth top three performance of the season. She earned third on a 33.28m (109'-9") mark in the discus throw. Bremel also registered a personal best throw of 40.13m (131'-8") to finish sixth in the hammer throw.
Briana Dorr (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) recorded top five performances in two of her events. She posted 28.26m (92'-8") to take fourth in the discus throw. Dorr added a fifth place finish in the shot put with a 9.91m (32'-6.25") throw. Her third event was in the hammer throw where she placed 11
th out of 16 athletes on 32.47m (106'-6").
Shansanique Pollack (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh) recorded 19.70m (64'-7") to finish 11
th in the discus throw.
The Saxons will travel to SUNY Brockport for the Empire 8 Championships on May 2-3. The competition is set to start on Friday at 2:00 PM.
