The team consisted of Jonathan Hodges (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West), Neil Peters (The Bronx, NY/DeWitt Clinton), Finnegan Dean (Potsdam, NY/Potsdam Central) and Riley Ciamarra (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas).

A heat win and seventh overall place finish was secured by Alfred University in the 4x100-meter relay. Khamani Hunter Sr (Poughkeepsie, NY/FDR), Ciamarra, Steve Cordell Hoskins III (Buffalo, NY/St. Joseph's Collegiate Institution) and Peters collectively ran a time of 43.32 seconds.

Three of the Saxons took on the 400-meter dash. Hodges finished in 20th overall with 51.40 seconds out of 67 competitors. Jayden Noel (Brooklyn, NY/Automotive) raced in 55.62 seconds while Kevin Voegelin (Allegany, NY/Allegany-Limestone) crossed the line in 56.55 seconds.

Hunter turned heads in the first round of the 100-meter dash, placing 14th out of 87 with a time of 11.26. Peters was just behind him at 11.27 seconds which secured him 15th place. Hoskins III was also one of the 87. He ran his personal best time of 11.68 seconds.

In the 1500-meter run, another personal best was achieved. Jacob Taylor (Cohocton, NY/Avoca) placed third in heat four with a 4:11.42. He ranked 33rd out of the crowd of 105 that made up the competition for the event.

"Despite the weather, we had a good showing one week out from Empire 8s," Head Coach Matt Phillips '10 said. "Today's focus wasn't about the results but about preparing mentally for our championship meet. From what I saw today, we're excited for what the squad can do at Brockport."

"The mental toughness that was shown today proves to me that next week at the championship, we are going to do great things," Assistant Head Coach Sierra Wilson '22 remarked. "I am proud of this team for what they have accomplished so far; their hard work is showing."

The next competition for the Saxons is the Empire 8 Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by SUNY Brockport on May 2-3.
