ALFRED, NY – Alfred University's Sekou Camara (Conakry, Guinea/ICSA) was named the Field Athlete of the Week by the Empire 8 on Monday for outdoor track & field.
 
Camara won the high jump at the Ithaca College In-Between Meet on Saturday. He cleared 1.96m (6'-5") on his third attempt to clinch the win. He was 0.01m away from his personal best, set at the Empire 8 Championships. Camara has now won the high jump event for the third meet in a row. 
 
Camara was also named a Saxon of the Week on Monday along with softball's Kendall Steward (Kennedy, NY/Randolph).
