CANANDAIGUA, NY -- The Alfred University men's alpine skiing team concluded its season at the regional championship races at Bristol Mountain.
"Regionals was exciting and collaborative, a great culmination of hard work over the past year with all our friends from te other teams in the conference," Head Coach
Bob Cilino '13 said. "We went out there to give it our best and competed as we expected."
Kevin Voegelin (Allegany, NY/Allegany-Limestone) was the only Saxons skier who finished all four races across the weekend. Saturday's giant slalom saw him finish with a 2:34.87, improving his second run by over two seconds. Sunday's slalom saw him clock in at 2:24.87.
Garrett Farabaugh (Abington, PA/Abington Senior) didn't finish Sunday's race course, but completed the giant slalom with a time of 2:43.04. He too improved his second run by over five seconds.
Esa Jack Connelly (Schuylerville, NY/Schuylerville) finished his first year of collegiate skiing with a DNF on Saturday, but an impressive 1:53.66 on Sunday. His final run was a two-second gain on his first run, showing the consistent improvement each skier had across the board this weekend.
As the snow starts to melt away, AU will prepare for next winter's ski season.
