FREDONIA, NY – The Alfred University men's swimming & diving team defeated both University of Rochester and Fredonia on Saturday afternoon in tri-meet action, picking up the first win since 1992 over the Yellowjackets.
"We were not quite at 100% today. A little bit tired, but we are working hard," Head Coach
Brian Striker '00 said. "We put things together enough to beat U of R for the first time in many years…at least as long as I have been around. It was pretty exciting for the team! It was great to see them engaged with what was going on around them and stepping up when needed. Despite the momentum that we have and the results we are seeing, I think they are looking forward to a few weeks off from meets!"
The Saxons began the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay.
Youssef amr Abdallatif (Cairo, Egypt/Raya Language School),
