ALFRED, NY – Scott Kimiecik (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) of Alfred University was named the Empire 8 Men's Lacrosse Goalie of the Week on Monday in an official announcement by Associate Commissioner, Joe Venniro.

Kimiecik made nine saves in goal for AU as he picked up the first Saxon goalie win over Nazareth College since he came to campus in the Fall 2018 season. He helped AU beat the Golden Flyers, 13-11 as he was also second on the team in ground balls with four.

This is his third time earning Empire 8 Men's Lacrosse Goalie of the Week this season. Kimiecik is now tied for second-most all-time Empire 8 Weekly Awards with his current teammate and former basketball star, Brewster Marshall (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads), both having been honored nine times. Marshall earned all nine of his Empire 8 awards from basketball.

Kimiecik was joined in the Empire 8 Weekly Awards by fellow Saxon Anne Spila (Mechanicsburg, PA/Trinity) who was named Women's Field Athlete of the Week.

He and the Saxons will next host St. John Fisher University on Wednesday, April 12 at 4:00pm.
