ITHACA, NY – The Alfred University women's swimming & diving team finished 11th of 11 teams at the Ithaca College Bomber Invite.
The Saxons (2-3, 0-0 Empire 8) finished with 170 Points over the weekend.
"It was a really good weekend for the women. There was a lot of great competition; It was our first chance to get some large meet, multiple heat racing in." Head Coach Brian Striker '00 said. "I was happy with our approach and performances over each of the sessions. We put together some solid relays and had some best times and even a new school record in the 100 IM (Mia Spencer)! They are in a solid place as we begin the second half of the season!"
Friday Recap:
Sarah Anderson (Wayne, PA/Radnor) finished 20th out of 65 swimmers in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 25.48.
Mia Spencer (Omaha, NE/Omaha Central) finished 31st out of 64 swimmers with a time of 2:18.19.
Erika Purdy (Syracuse, NY/Cicero North) finished 41st in the 500-yard Freestyle with a time of 6:01.45.

Kamila Roman (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck) finished 20th in the 200-yard Butterfly with a time of 2:24.52.
Maureen Derry (Asheville, NC/Asheville) finished 36th in the 100-yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:18.00.

Liv Richeda (Endwell, NY/Maine-Endwel) finished 29th in the 1650-Yard Freestyle with a time of 21:50.24.
Mia Spencer finished 12th in the 100-yard IM with a time of 1:04.06, breaking the Alfred University school record of 1:04.16, set by Kelsey McRill '16 in 2015. She also finished 22nd in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:36.22.
