ALFRED, NY – The Empire 8 has selected Scott Kimiecik (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) as the Men's Lacrosse Goalie of the Week for the third time this season (fourth in his career) as made official in an announcement by Associate Commissioner, Joe Venniro on Monday.
 
Kimiecik played his final game on the turf at Yunevich Stadium in style as he made nine saves on 10 shots on goal to pick up another Empire 8 win as the Saxons defeated Keuka College, 18-2. Kimiecik added three ground balls and a caused turnover in the win.
 
The senior goalie was joined in the Empire 8 listings by fellow Saxons, Arden Hatch (Orangevale, CA/St. Francis) as the Softball Pitcher of the Week and Ana Ion (Bucharest, Romania/Episcopal School of Jacksonville) as the Women's Field Athlete of the Week on Monday.
 
Kimiecik and the Saxons now turn their sights to the Empire 8 Playoffs as AU travels to No. 2 seed, Nazareth College on Wednesday for a 4:00pm semi-finals start.
