ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University men's lacrosse team picked up its third Empire 8 weekly honor as Scott Kimiecik (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) was named the Goalie of the Week for the second time this year and third in his career on Monday afternoon in an official announcement by Associate Commissioner, Joe Venniro.
 
Kimiecik tied a career-high in saves with 17 stops against SUNY Geneseo, having faced 45 total shots with 31 on goal in the loss. Kimiecik rebounded back with a win over Thiel College, making four saves and allowing two goals. He totaled 10 ground balls on the week with a season-high, seven against Geneseo and also had two caused turnovers in the same game.
 
Kimiecik and the Saxons will next host SUNY Brockport on Tuesday, March 29 at 5:00pm in Yunevich Stadium for their Saxon-for-Saxon event.
