ALFRED, NY – The Empire 8 Athletic Conference named Scott Kimiecik (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) as the Men's Lacrosse Goalie of the Week on Monday in an official announcement by Associate Commissioner, Joe Venniro.
 
Kimiecik earned his first 5-0 season start in his collegiate career as he had back-to-back games where he had more saves than goals allowed. He faced 22 shots and made eight saves while allowing three goals against Lycomin College and made nine saves after facing 24 shots and allowed another three goals in a win at King's (PA). Kimiecik picked up a season-high six ground balls against Lycoming and snagged another two in Saturday's win.
 
Kimiecik was joined on Monday in the Empire 8 listings by men's track & field's Neil Peters (The Bronx, NY/DeWitt Clinton) as the Men's Track Athlete of the Week, Madison Palmer (East Aurora, NY/East Aurora) as the Women's Field Athlete of the Week and Alyssa Piechota (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) as the Women's Lacrosse Goalie of the Week.
 
Kimiecik and the Saxons will next host SUNY Geneseo on Wednesday, March 23 at 4pm at Yunevich Stadium.
