ALFRED, NY – The Empire 8 selected
Ana Ion (Bucharest, Romania/Episcopal School of Jacksonville) of the Alfred University women's track & field team as the E8 Women's Field Athlete of the Week as made official in an announcement by Associate Commissioner,
Joe Venniro on Monday afternoon.

Sophomore Ion did a bit of it all on Friday's first outdoor meet of the season as she placed in the Top-5 in each of her four events. She placed third in the shot put with a toss of 10.21m while simultaneously taking third in the high jump with a height of 1.50m. Ion then pick up fifth place finishes in the javelin with a throw of 21.04m and in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.63 seconds.

Ion and fellow multi athlete,
Bianca Durso (Utica, NY/New Hartford Senior) will next travel to The College at Brockport on Sunday, April 18 for a 10:00am start of the Brockport Multis as both will compete in the heptathlon. Day two of the competition will be the flowing day, starting at noon.

Jessica Wilcox (Forestville, NY/Pine Valley) earning Pitcher of the Week, men's lacrosse's
Scott Kimiecik (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) earning Goalie of the Week and women's lacrosse's
Brenna Turner (Bentonville, AR/Bentonville) earning Player of the Week.
