ALFRED, NY – Senior Garrette Briggs (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) was tabbed as the Empire 8 Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week on Monday in an announcement from Associate Commissioner, Joe Venniro.
 
Briggs won 16-of-18 faceoffs on Saturday to help the Saxons top The College at Brockport on Saturday. He also led all the players on Saturday with 10 ground balls, seven more than any other player.
 
Briggs and the Saxons will next host Sage Colleges on Wednesday, March 24 at 4:00pm. Briggs was joined on Monday with the announcement of Alyssa Piechota (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) of the women's lacrosse team being the Empire 8 Goalie of the Week.
