ALFRED, NY -- For the second time this season, sophomore Madison Palmer (East Aurora, NY/East Aurora) was named the Empire 8 Women's Field Athlete of the Week on Monday in an official announcement by Associate Commissioner, Joe Venniro.

Palmer finished seventh in the shot put at the Nazareth College Conference Tune-Up Invitational with a throw of 11.42m while placing ninth in the weight throw with a toss of 14.13m on Friday. Palmer currently has the top throw in the Empire 8 in the shot put with a school record toss of 11.96m and is second in the weight throw with a throw of 14.49m as the Saxons look towards the Empire 8 Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday and Saturday, February 28 and 29 at Houghton College.

Palmer was named the Field Athlete of the Week on January 20 of this year.
