ALFRED, NY -- Junior jumper on the women's track & field team, Danielle Perry (Leicester, NY/York Central) has earned Empire 8 Field Athlete of the week three times prior to the 2019 outdoor season and, as of Monday afternoon, has earned her fourth recognition.

She previously earned the recognition in both indoor and outdoor seasons of her first-year season while tacking on one more during her sophomore outdoor year.

Perry was five inches away from breaking her own school record in the triple jump on Saturday at the Muhlenberg Invitational as she marked a 10.79m distance good enough for fourth place. She also hit 4.84m in the long jump for a seventh place finish. Earlier in the week, at Alfred State College for the Allegany County Classic, Perry took second in the triple jump with a hop-skip-jump of 10.53m.

She was joined in the Empire 8 Weekly Awards by softball pitching junior, Jessica Wilcox (Forestville, NY/Pine Valley) as Pitcher of the Week.

Perry and the Saxons will next head to the Messiah College Invitational on April 12 for a 4PM meet start.
