GENESEO, NY – The Alfred University women's track & field team competed at the SUNY Geneseo Invitational on Saturday and totaled five Top-10 finishes on the day.

Dr. Angie Taylor said. "There were a lot of Top-10 places and the athletes are progressing nicely."

Sophomore
Holly Passetti (Nichols, NY/Tioga Central) led the Saxons with her fourth place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as she ran a time of 13:14.33. The 4x100-meter relay team of
Megan Alper (Belmont, MA/Belmont), Gabby Griffin (Sterling, NY/Hannibal), Sierra Wilson (Youngstown, NY/Lewiston-Porter) and
Danielle Perry (Leicester, NY/York Central) (results have
Monet Harris running second leg)Â also claimed a fourth place finish as they combined for 55.02.

Perry then picked up a pair of Top-10 finishes as she took fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 10.39m and then marked a 4.89m long jump to take 10
th.

Alper closed out the top finishes for the Saxons with her eighth place, 26.69 finish in the 200-meter dash.

The Saxons will next split up their team on Tuesday, April 2. The throwers will compete at Houghton College while the runners and jumpers will be at Alfred State College.
