ALFRED, NY -- As the Alfred University men's lacrosse team preps for its first ever Empire 8 Athletic Conference trip on Wednesday, senior captain Jake Lynch (Whitney Point, NY/Whitney Point) was named the conference's Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week on Monday.

Lynch tied the school record again for most goals in a single game as he tallied three hat-tricks against Utica College and helped the Saxons tack down the No. 3 seed in the Empire 8 Tournament. Lynch scored the first five goals of the game on Saturday with all of them occurring in the first 10 minutes of the first quarter. He totaled 18 shots and one groundball.

The Saxons take on No. 2 seed St. John Fisher College on Wednesday in Rochester at 4PM.
