ALFRED, NY -- Sophomore jumper Danielle Perry (Leicester, NY/York Central) of the Alfred University women's track & field team was named the Empire 8 Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week on Monday.

Perry won the triple jump with an in-season best distance of 10.65m during the Messiah College Invitational. She also took fifth in the long jump with a distance of 4.95m. Perry teamed with Krissy Roberts (Chittenango, NY/Chittenango), Frances Sariego (Beaver Dams, NY/Corning-Painted Post) and Megan Alper (Belmont, MA/Belmont) in the 4x100-meter relay where the squad ran a 54.16 for eighth place.

Perry and the Saxons will next compete at the University of Rochester Invitational on Friday, April 20 at 4PM.
