ITHACA, NY – The Alfred University men's swimming and diving team lost to host Ithaca College, 183-92, in a dual meet Saturday afternoon.
Junior
Alec Toth (Lockport, NY/Starpoint) won one event and took second in two others, and sophomore
Gabriel Smith (Campbell, NY/Campbell-Savona) swept the diving events to lead the Saxons. Toth took first in the 200 individual medley in 2:03.87 and also took second in the 200 freestyle (1:49.58) and 200 back (2:01.22). Smith won 1-meter diving with 188.00 points and took 3-meter diving with 171.70 points.
Other top performers for AU were: junior
Michael Guarglia (Hornell, NY/Hornell), second in the 1,000 freestyle (11:06.49); sophomore
Justin Ceratto (Poughkeepsie, NY/Arlington), second in the 200 butterfly (2:22.24); and sophomore
Richard Berger (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz), second in the 200 breaststroke (2:23.23)

AU wraps up its dual meet season next Saturday, Jan. 28, at 1 p.m. at home against LeMoyne.
