Seth Spicer (Corning, NY/Corning-Painted Post) finished seventh in the men's heptathlon after Saturday's final day of competition at the ECAC indoor track and field championships.

The two-day meet, held at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, NY, concluded Saturday, March 5. Alfred, with three athletes competing at the championships, earned two points from Spicer's seventh-place finish to place 45
th in the team standings.

Jeffrey Nunez (Wurtsboro, NY/Ellenville) was the only other AU athlete competing Saturday. He finished 20
th in the weight throw with a heave of 14.50 meters.

On Saturday, Spicer competed in the pole vault (no height), 60-meter hurdles (9.16 seconds) and 1,000-meter run (2:50.10) to finish the heptathlon with 3,954 points. On Friday, Spicer had a personal best of 12.47 meters in the shot put, tops among the 14-athlete field. He also competed in the 60-meter dash (7.51 seconds); the long jump (6.01 meters); and the high jump (1.70 meters).
