Saxon women fall on the road to Ithaca

Meet Results

ITHACA, NY – Host Ithaca College handed the Alfred University women's swimming and diving team a 230-65 dual-meet loss Saturday afternoon.
 
Junior Dylan Staniszewski (Oakton, VA/Oakton) won a pair of races to pace the Saxons. She won the 200 freestyle in 2:02.19 and the 100 free in 55.12 seconds.
 
Senior Kelsey McRill (Solon, OH/Solon) was second in the 50 free (25.90). Other top performers for the Saxons were: junior Samantha Brown (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport), third in the 100-yard butterfly (1:05.68), the 200 fly (2:27.05) and the 400 individual medley (5:11.51); junior Faith Lanfear (Port Crane, NY/Chenango Valley), third in the 1,000 free (12:22.67); and sophomore Megan Steen (Portsmouth, RI/Portsmouth), third in the 100 back (1:06.90) and 200 back (2:23.59).
 
AU is in action next at the Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association (UNYSCSA)/Empire 8 Conference championships, Feb. 17-20 at Ithaca College.
