Box Score ALFRED, NY-- The Alfred University men's lacrosse team was handed an 18-6 loss by visiting Ithaca College, Wednesday evening in Empire 8 play.

Ithaca led 14-2 at halftime, but AU matched the Bombers in scoring in the second half, with four goals from each team.

Junior attack Nicolas Wood (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua) paced the Saxons with two goals. Senior attack Brett Carroll (Buffalo, NY/Bishop Timon-St. Jude), senior attack Derek Green (Pittsburgh, PA/Kiski School), freshman midfielder Derek Bishopp (Livonia, NY/Livonia), and freshman midfielder Brett McMichael (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan Academy) all scored a goal apiece.

Senior defender Chris Tauterouff (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua Academy) (four caused turnovers) and senior defender Pat Walsh (Lakeview, NY/Bishop Timon-St. Jude) anchored the Saxon defense with five and four groundballs.

Junior goalie Cody O'Connor (Whitney Point, NY/Whitney Point) made three saves in 24 minutes before junior Tyler Beyor (Carthage, NY/Carthage) took over in net for the remaining minutes, making a save.

AU (4-8, 1-5 Empire 8) wraps up the regular season against Hartwick College on Saturday, April 26, at 1 p.m.
