Box Score ALFRED, NY – The Alfred University men's lacrosse team handed visiting Hilbert College a 20-7 loss, Thursday evening at Yunevich Stadium. This win moves AU to 2-1 on the season.

Alfred found the back of the net seven times for the first and second quarters and tacked on six more goals during the second half.

For the game, the Saxons outshot the Hawks 49 to 26, held a 35-13 groundball advantage, and won 21 face-offs to Hilbert's seven.
Senior midfielder Brendan Sullivan (Stafford, VA/Kiski School) and junior attacker Nicolas Wood (Canandaigua, NY/Canandaigua) each netted a team-high four goals for Alfred. Freshman midfielder Nick Skibitsky (Buffalo, NY/Williamsville East), freshman attacker John Winchell (Vestal, NY/Vestal), freshman midfielder Derek Bishopp (Livonia, NY/Livonia) and freshman midfielder Brett McMichael (Penn Yan, NY/Penn Yan Academy) combined for eight goals, scoring two each.

Freshman midfielder Jimmy Pratti (Minisink, NY/Minisink Valley) went 21 for 28 on face-off wins and picked up 12 groundballs.

Junior goalie Cody O'Connor (Whitney Point, NY/Whitney Point) made six saves in the first half. Junior Tyler Beyor (Carthage, NY/Carthage) (two saves) played 25 minutes of the second half and freshman Cody Cornelius (Newark, NY/Newark) (three saves) took over for the remaining 5 minutes.

Alfred returns to action on Thursday, March 13, at 4 p.m. against Houghton College.
