ALFRED, NY –
Rebecca Graudons (Mayfield, NY/Mayfield) and
Miasia Hillman (Buffalo, NY/Hutch Tech), members of the Alfred University women's indoor track and field team, have swept the weekly Empire 8 Conference honors.
Graudons, a senior, was named Empire 8 Female Field Athlete of the Week, while Hillman, a junior, was named Empire 8 Female Track Athlete of the Week. Both were honored for their performance in last weekend's New York State College Track Conference (NYSCTC) championship meet at St. Lawrence University.
Graudons won a state pole vault title, her third straight indoor championship, with her record-setting performance at St. Lawrence's Newell Fieldhouse. Her winning vault of 3.60 meters broke the school and NYSCTC championship meet records she set in winning the indoor pole vault title in 2012.
Hillman won a state title in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.88 seconds and also placed second in the 200-meter dash in 25.92 seconds. Her preliminary heat time of 7.84 seconds in the 60 meters set a new school record (breaking the 7.88 second mark she established at Cornell University Feb. 22) and tied the NYSCTC association and championship meet records.
Graudons and Hillman have each qualified to compete at the ECAC indoor championships, March 7 and 8 in Boston, MA. Both are ranked nationally among Division III athletes: Graudons' 3.60 meters in the pole vault ranks 19

rd and 27
