Senior captain Nick Milgate led the Alfred University defense on Saturday in the Saxons’ home-opening win against the visitors from Oregon, George Fox University. He helped keep the Bruins total offense under 200 yards with only 192, 63 yards in the air. Milgate totaled 13 tackles on the day with 10 of them being solo accomplishments. He had 6.0 tackles for a loss with -26 yards to the George Fox offense and out of those, 2.0 were sacks for -19 yards. Milgate, during George Fox’s final drive of the game, recorded a huge, -11-yard sack to force a fourth-down conversion attempt from the Bruins that was unsuccessful as the Saxons would take a knee and the 2-0 season start.
