Senior Dom LeMorta closed out his stellar final season with authority as on Friday, during the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball National Tournament, he went off for 45 points against Ramapo College. The 16-of-27, 8-for-12 from 3-point land and 5-for-6 from the free throw line performance was also a stadium record as the first round was played in the Christopher Newport University Freeman Center. Then, in Round Two, LeMorta was the game-high scorer as he tallied 28 points with a 13-of-25 performance from the floor with just two 3-pointers. He tacked on six rebounds, two assists and one steal. LeMorta ends his season with 591 points after coming in with 427 points from his first three years. He is one of 21 Alfred University men’s basketball players to be members of the 1,000-point club and he is now #20 on the AU all-time career scoring list with 1,018 points.
