Junior Elena Ceja is the first Saxon to go yard on the season as she helped the Saxons go 1-1 on opening day in her home state of California with a split against Whittier College. During her first at-bat of her third year with the Saxons, Ceja tied the game in the top of the second with a homer as she went 1-for-2 in the season-opener. Ceja tacked on another run in the second game that resulted in Alfred University's first win of the year. Defensively, she only played in the night cap where she had two putouts and three assists.
