Senior Dom LeMorta, in a span of five days, helped the Alfred University Saxons claim not only the regular season Empire 8 championship title, but also to win the Empire 8 Men’s Basketball Championship Title when they defeated Nazareth College on Tuesday to close out the regular season, Stevens Institute of Technology on Friday in the first round of the E8 playoffs and then St. John Fisher College for the third time of the year in the Championship Game. LeMorta totaled 79 points in those three games with a career-high 35 points against Nazareth College. He was 13-for-24 on Tuesday while going an impressive 13-for-20 on Saturday against Fisher where he scored 31 points. LeMorta totaled nine rebounds, three assists and one steal on the week as he was named the Empire 8 Men’s Basketball Tournament MVP on Saturday.
