2017-18: Named a Saxon of the Week (05.08.18 and 05.14.18).

2016-17: Earned GoSaxons.com Athlete of the Week (01.23.17, 02.13.17 and 03.06.17)...broke his own school record in the weight throw with a toss of 16.12 meters at the Houghton College Highlander Invitational (01.20.17)...won the Empire 8 Indoor weight throw with a distance of 15.70 meters to earn All-Empire 8 First Team (02.11.17).

2014-15: Made the All-Empire 8 Second Team in the 35-lb weight throw with a distance of 15.92m (2.14.15).

Before AU: At Ellenville High School, he won the indoor Section IX Class C weight throw championship 2010-13, placed fifth at nationals in his senior year and earned outstanding field athelete honors in 2011 and 2013 and all-american honors in his senior year. His team won the outdoor Class C championship 2009-12, the indoor Section IX championship 2009-11 and the indoor Class B championship 2011 and 2012.

Personal: Nunez is a business administration major and a son of Adalid and Irma Nunez.
