ROCHESTER, NY – The Alfred University men's track & field team competed at the St. John Fisher University Cardinal Classic on Saturday.
The Saxons totaled four first place finishes, one silver finish and three other Top-10 finishes.
Khamani Hunter Sr (Poughkeepsie, NY/FDR) had the top 100-meter dash time in the prelims with an 11.19 finish. He went on to win the finals with a time of 11.20. Hunter added a second place finish to his impressive day with a time of 22.40 in the 200-meter dash.
Jonathan Hodges (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West) ran a 50.12 in the 400-meter dash to claim his gold victory.
Sekou Camara (Conakry, Guinea/ICSA) cleared 1.84m (6'-0.5") in the high jump on his second attempt to win high jump.
David Winchenbach (Jefferson, ME/Lincoln Academy) qualified for finals in the 110-meter hurdles with the third best time of 15.77. He later won the event with a time of 16.31.
Jordan Annlee (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) took fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.38.
Riley Ciamarra (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) followed Hunter in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.95, earning seventh place.
Zach Schultz (Middleport, NY/Royalton-Hartland) followed Hodges in the 400-meter dash with an eighth place finishing time of 54.33.
In the field,
Daimel Fowler (Baldwinsville, NY/CW Baker) finished ninth with a toss of 11.37m (37'-3.75") in the shot put.
The Saxons will next return to St. John Fisher University for the two-day Empire 8 Outdoor Track & Field Championships, starting on Friday, May 1 at 3:00pm and concluding on Saturday, May 2, starting at 10:30am.
